REBECCA LIEBSON
New York-based journalist

Rebecca is a member of the New York Times inaugural fellowship class. She writes for the metro desk and works on "The Weekly," the Times first-ever news documentary television series.
Rebecca graduated from Stony Brook University in 2019 with high honors. She was the News Editor for SBU's student newspaper, The Statesman. In the past Rebecca has interned at WSHU Public Radio, The New York Post, NBC and The 74 Million — a digital-native news organization covering K-12 education issues across the nation.

She has strong investigative skills and is willing to go the extra mile to get the most complete and accurate version of the story. Although Rebecca is comfortable covering just about any subject, the beats she is most interested in are local government, public policy, the environment and education.
